ARP 4000® is a professional-grade, tall oil (pine tree derivative) asphalt shingle rejuvenator formulated to extend and restore shingle flexibility, prevent granular loss, and restore color depth to aging roofs.

Inspection and Prep

Ensure the roof is clean and dry. Blow off debris. Inspect and repair any damaged shingles or flashing separations.

Dilute (5) gallons of ARP 4000® concentrate (1 part concentrate, 2 parts water mix for 2-3 minutes with mixing paddle). Yields 15 gallons of ready to apply solution.

ARP 4000® Application

Do not apply during windy or rainy conditions. Apply ARP 4000® using back pack sprayer or a skid mounted high volume sprayer. Blow the roof clear of debris. Apply evenly in a consistent fan pattern from the eves to the ridges, avoid pooling. Do not walk on treated areas. The initial applied appearance should be white with a spray pattern visible. Slightly overlap patterns for proper coverage. Product will dry clear. If the customer reports they currently have leaks before you treat their roof, those leaks need to be repaired before applying ARP 4000®.

Post Application

Allow 30-60 minutes dry time. ARP 4000® fully cures within 24 hours.

How much money can I make per job?

A lot. Pricing varies based on the size, pitch and height of the home or apartment building. Typically, on a national basis of other contractors pricing you'll net an average of $2,000 to $2,500 per 5 gallon bucket based on your charging the national average of $1.00/square foot for restoration application only. More if you are performing wash services.

What equipment do I need to get started?

You'll need a sprayer of some type with enough flow and pressure to apply ARP 4000®. You can start out with a Ryobi 4 gallon battery powered backpak sprayer ($200 at Home Depot) and eventually progressing to a Master Mfg skid mounted more powerful and faster spray rig ($1,300 available at Northern Tool) . Your first job will pay for it! Other essentials are a ladder of sufficient height with a stabilizer, cushioned boots (couger paws), body harness and ridge/peak anchor.

What is ARP 4000® made from and why is it better than the competition?

Not very long. On average it takes 1-2 people about 45 minutes to an hour per 1,000 square feet to apply.

Basically, anyone who can walk and talk and chew gum at the same time, can climb a ladder, walk on a roof and use a sprayer (think fertilizing a garden) and with a minimum of training can do this work.
